Risk ManagementOpen RiskManager™ by selecting "Manage Issues" from the menu, and clicking "RiskManager™". Select the issue you want to manage, and click the "Risk Management" tab. The "Issue" section displays the description that was given when the issue was created, and the "Risk Statement" section displays the issue's risk statement, if one has been given. Risk statements can be modified on the "Risk Assessment" tab. Recommended Corrective ActionThe "Recommended Corrective Action" section allows you to view and accept recomended corrective actions. Once a corrective action is accepted, it will also be displayed in the "Planned Corrective Actions" section. Planned Corrective ActionsThe "Planned Corrective Action" section displays accepted corrective actions, including who has been assigned to complete them, and when they are expected to be completed. New corrective actions can be added by entering a description, assigning someone to complete them, specifying a target completion date, and clicking the "Add" button. Corrective actions added this way are automatically accepted, and are added to the list in the "Recommended Corrective Actions" section. A planned corrective action can be edited by clicking its "Edit" button and changing the values that need to be changed, then clicking the "Update" button. The "Description" field cannot be edited. Update ProgressThe "Update Progress" section provides a text field where you can enter an update comment. When you click the "Update" button, the comment in the text field is copied into the issue's "Comments" section, available under the "Details" tab.
ClassificationOpen RiskManager™ by selecting "Manage Issues" from the menu, and clicking "RiskManager™". Select the issue you want to manage, and click the "Classification" tab. The "Issue" section allows you to change the title of the issue. The "Permissions" section allows you to designate an issue as "sensitive", so that it can only be viewed by management and the person who submitted it. The "Assign Department & Responsible Manager" section allows you to assign responsibility for the issue to a department, and to a specific manager. The next three sections allow you to provide information concerning the type of issue, why the issue ocurred, and what processes were involved. Within each section, the available choices are provided by three drop-down lists, arranged from most general to most specific. Selecting a value in a more general list will update the more specific lists with values appropriate to the new selection. When the values are selected as desired, click the "Add" button to add the selected information to the issue. Information that has been added may be deleted by clicking the "Delete" button displayed to the left of the information.
Risk AssessmentOpen RiskManager™ by selecting "Manage Issues" from the menu, and clicking "RiskManager™". Select the issue you want to manage, and click the "Risk Assessment" tab. The "Issue" section displays the description that was given when the issue was created, the "Risk Statement" section allows you to view and update the issue's risk statement, and the "Recommend Corrective Action" section allows you to recommend a corrective action. To update the issue's risk statement, go to the "Risk Statement" section and enter the new or updated risk statement in the text field, then click the "Update Risk Statement" button. To recommend a new corrective action, go to the "Recommend Corrective Action" section and enter the new corrective action in the text field, then click the "Add" button. Risk MatrixThe "Risk Matrix" section provides a tool for assessing risks. There is a graph showing probability of occurence versus severity, color-coded with green, yellow, orange, and red to indicate low risk, medium risk, significant risk, and high risk, respectively. Below the graph are three drop-down lists, used to assign the issue a probabilty, severity, and risk assessment. When the mouse is moved over a cell in the graph, a description of the probability of occurence and severity represented by that cell is displayed in the area beside the graph. When a cell is clicked, the values selected in the drop-down lists are updated to the values indicated by the selected cell. When the desired values are selected, click the "Update" button to update the issue. You can also click the "Cancel" button to restore the values selected in the lists to match the values currently set for the issue. Issue StatusThe "Issue Status" section displays the issue's current status, and allows you to update the status. To update the issue's status, select the new status from the drop-down list, enter an explanation for the status change in the text field, and click the "Update Status" button. The issue's status will be updated, and a status change comment (visible in the "Comments" section under the "Details" tab) will be added to the issue containing the explanation for the status change. |  |
